Bosse first started producing this collection of miniatures in the late 1940s, and as a result, he made a large impact on the world’s perception of Viennese brass. Using minimal detail, Bosse’s facility for registering expression comes from the play between patinated and polished brass, the latter of which is created by polishing off the patina to reveal shiny brass beneath.
